교수소개

단백질의 구조와 기능분석을 in vitro/ in vivo에서 수행하는 연구를 수행하고
있다. 주요 표적 단백질은 세포 신호전달물질이거나, 기능이 잘알려져 있지 않
은 단백질들로 새로운 기능탐색을 위한 단백질체학 혹은 유전체학적인 접근
을 병행하고 있다. 표적 단백질이 효소인 경우, 효소의 반응기작을 이해하기
위한 kinetic study와 단백질의 folding에 관한 기초연구를 Circular
Dichroism, Fluorescence, Calorimetry 를이용하여 연구하고 있다. 또한 신호
전달에 중요한 기능을 하고있는 단백질이 표적 단백질인 경우, 세포생물학적
접근법으로 신호전달경로의 새로운 이해와 그들을 이용한 질환의 병인과 치료
기반에 관한 정보를 획득하기위한 다양한 분자생물학적 접근법을 수행하고 있
다. 한편, 심혈관 생물학중에서 동맥경화와 관련이 있는 shear stress의 신호
전달과 shear stress의 생리적 효과에 관한 연구를 수행하고 있다. 이러한 연
구는 동맥경화의 원인규명과 치료에 많은 도움을 줄 것이다.
